Terry Guyer Artist Biography

Education

BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design which included a year at Brighton Polytechnic Art Facility in Sussex England. Postgraduate training in the Bay Area at San Francisco Academy of Art, San Francisco School of Art and the Pacific Art League.

Special Projects

"A Statue of Nikola Tesla in the Silicon Valley" Commission

Contract signed in 2013 with Northern Imagination for a 7-foot cast bronze statue of Nikola Tesla to be funded through a KickStarter campaign. Statue was unveiled in Palo Alto, CA on December 7, 2013.

Major Multi-Year Portrait Commission

Contract signed in 2008 with the Silicon Valley Luminary Society to do six 6-foot x 9-foot museum-quality group portraits, by time period or industry, portraying Silicon Valley inventors and their inventions. Project is now completed and all the paintings were on display in the historic Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco in 2015-2016.

Two additional Silicon Valley Inventor Group Portraits commissioned in 2017 for delivery in June 2018 to complete the series. All eight paintings will now go into the collection of Hohbach Hall at the renovated Green Library of Stanford University.
