Commissioned Oil Portraits by Terry Guyer
Commissioned portraits are a primary focus of my fine art offerings and something I find very satisfying.
My commissioned portraits are oil paintings on linen. Only the finest, professional quality, archival materials are used.
The final work, with its life-like translucent skin tones, and cloth textures you can almost feel, are accomplished through many painting sessions of varying translucent colors painted wet over dry layers of paint
I am honored to have been under contract with the Silicon Valley Luminary Society to complete a historic series of portraits of Silicon Valley inventors who have made world-changing contributions to science and technology.
All six of these paintings are permanently installed at iHangar (innovation Hangar) in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts, the beautiful Beaux Arts building from the Panama Pacific International Exhibition of 1915. These paintings inform and complement their educational display of technology innovation, past and future.
All commissioned portraits are painted with the finest hand-made oil paint on quadruple oil-primed Belgian linen stretched on custom made-to-order museum stretcher bars. Professional work starts with a solid footing and is made to last for generations.
