Northern California is full of grazing cattle from a thriving and extensive dairy farming.

This scene of cows taking breaks from the sunshine under the oaks made for a classic pastoral oil painting. The ancient, long ago, fallen oak that has rerooted itself added a unique element which elevates the scene from the ordinary.
