alternating translucent and opaque oil color on linen,
capturing the unique atmosphere of the living moment.
Terry Guyer
is an award-winning painter with artwork in many corporate
and private collections. His 20-plus years of supporting
his family as an independent commercial artist and designer
for Fortune 500 companies has made his artwork familiar
to a worldwide audience.
What Terry has to say about his work:
“When I paint
an oil painting it is a multi-faceted mental journey. If
I do my job well, and the final painting is successful,
the viewer should have a similar experience.
I work successive
layers of translucent and opaque oil paint to the point
that the sense of paint gives way to an impression of life.
I paint realism because it gives purpose and structure
to the visual sensation of color and value being created.
The impression created by the paint handling gives context
to the realistic imagery and together it builds a more
complete and satisfying visual experience.”
